Continuing the Volks Home Legacy

Today, Volks Home is proudly led by Serge, who is taking the business into its next chapter while building on the strong foundations established over more than 35 years.

Serge’s focus is on continuing what Volks Home has always been known for — specialist knowledge, quality workmanship and a genuine passion for Volkswagen Group vehicles — while bringing his own experience and vision to the business.

Our Story

Volks Home was founded by John and Joy Goodison and commenced trading on 1 July 1988. At a time when Japanese manufacturers dominated the Australian automotive market and new Volkswagens were relatively uncommon, the business was established with a dedicated focus on servicing and maintaining Volkswagen vehicles.

The original workshop was located just 100 metres from our current premises, but the business quickly outgrew the small factory. In 1991, Volks Home moved to 16 Commercial Drive, before relocating to its current home at 10–12 Commercial Drive, Thomastown in 2015.

As the Volkswagen Group continued to grow in Australia, so did Volks Home. Audi and SEAT became increasingly popular throughout the 1990s, followed by Škoda joining the Volkswagen family in the early 2000s. Volks Home continued to expand its specialist knowledge, equipment and services to support these brands.

Experience Across Generations

Today, Volks Home can look after everything from a classic air-cooled Volkswagen to the latest Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT or Škoda.

With more than 60 years of combined experience, our team has an extensive understanding of Volkswagen Group vehicles across multiple generations. It’s not unusual to have a beautifully maintained classic VW in the workshop alongside a late-model vehicle receiving a logbook service, DSG transmission service or specialist repair.

That connection between the classic vehicles that helped establish Volks Home and the latest generation of Volkswagen Group vehicles remains an important part of who we are.

The Next Chapter

Under Serge’s leadership, Volks Home is continuing to evolve while retaining the specialist knowledge, experience and enthusiasm that have been at the heart of the business since 1988.

Our goal is simple: to provide expert care for your vehicle and give you confidence that it’s in the hands of people who genuinely understand and appreciate Volkswagen Group vehicles.

From the classics of yesterday to the technology of today, Volks Home is proud to continue the journey.
